Stephen Spender was the poet who visited the Gemini Studios in

Bombay. He had left his learning and felt deeply for the poor and downtrodden. He was not againstp rogress and prosperity, but he wanted that the poor and the downtrodden should have equal opportunities to share the benefits. In this poem, he wants to draw the attention of the society and the government to the dismal condition under which those children live and study. There is a map that show beautiful cities, ship and love. But these children are deprived of these. He wants that children should be given education in a conclusiv atmosphere.

स्टीफन स्पेंडर बॉम्बे में जेमिनी स्टूडियो में जाने वाले कवि थे। उन्होंने अपनी शिक्षा छोड़ दी और गरीबों और दलितों के लिए गहराई से महसूस किया। वह प्रगति और समृद्धि के खिलाफ नहीं थे, लेकिन चाहते थे कि गरीबों और दलितों को लाभ साझा करने के समान अवसर हों। इस कविता में, वह समाज और सरकार का ध्यान उस आशाहीन स्थिति की ओर आकर्षित करना चाहता है जिसके तहत वे बच्चे रहते हैं और पढ़ते हैं। एक नक्शा है जो सुंदर शहरों, जहाजों और प्यार को दर्शाता है। लेकिन ये बच्चे उनसे वंचित हैं। वह चाहते हैं कि बच्चे अनुकूल माहौल में शिक्षित हों।
